TROUT HAVEN or COUNTRY VIEW

HOT MINERAL WATER OUTDOOR JACUZZS
Hourly leisure soaks in private outdoor hot tubs located in the Historical Town of Hot Springs, NC. These modern individual tubs, with full covering and surrounding decks, are nestled in wooded areas between two rivers. They maintain even temperatures of 100 to 104 degrees from the constant flow of hot mineral water steaming up from deep below the earth’s surface and directly piped into each tub. Relaxing in the curative spring water, surrounded by nature and the soothing sound of the nearby rivers, creates a harmonic and peaceful experience for both body and mind. Open year round (storms and winter weather permitting).

THERAPEUTIC SWEDISH BODY MASSAGES
Choose the length of time you desire: 30-minutes (or) 60-minutes (or) 90-minutes Session. This is an excellent choice to follow a relaxing Hot Mineral Water Spa Soak. The warm mineral water makes the body muscles more receptive to Massage Therapy. Guests also have a choice of massage locations: “In-Cabin” Massages are performed by the female therapist shown in this photo (considered one of the very best in her field). Guests are discreetly draped during their session (as shown) putting both male and female at ease in the privacy of your own cabin. This choice allows the maximum effect of your massage to linger (availability of this therapist’s service depends solely upon her schedule and winter weather permitting).

An alternative location for massages is on the same property as the hot mineral water spas, with sessions scheduled 15-minutes after tub soak. They offer both male and female therapists who are well trained and very professional (this option available year round).

HORSEBACK RIDING TRIP
Enjoy excitement from the back of well-trained horses as you view the beauty of nature winding through open grassy meadows, mountain wooded areas and streams. Choose a 1-hour ride (or) 2-hour ride (or) 3-hour ride. Guests are encouraged to bring along snacks or a complete Trail Lunch which is conveniently packed in your saddlebag. The longer 3-hour ride includes a visit to a 200-year-old, abandoned garnet mine. This private owned “Long Pine” Mine is listed on the National Registry of Historical Mines. Here you can dismount and give yourself and your horse a rest while you eat lunch and indulge in an opportunity to explore the mine and creek bed. Don’t be surprised if your exploration yields up relic stones of days gone by…you can keep what you find! CLICK HERE for website!. Open year round (winter weather permitting).

THE BILTMORE ESTATE & WINERY TOUR
Spend the day touring America’s largest, private owned home, a 250-room French chateau built by George Vanderbilt in the late 1800’s. Explore acres of landscaped gardens and grounds created by the same designer of New York’s Central Park. For over 100 years the Vanderbilt family has carefully preserved a legacy for generations to enjoy. Top off your day with a self-guided tour of the nation’s most visited winery, followed by a complimentary tasting of Biltmore’s award-winning wines. Both tours included in your day estate admission. Open year round.

CHIMNEY ROCK PARK
An activity for Hiking enthusiasts of all ages. This mountain adventure is famous for its awesome view of 1,200 vertical feet down and along Hickory Nut Gorge to Lake Lure. A day here is the natural fulfillment of your trip to the mountains. There are several points of interest encompassed in these 1,000 acres of natural wonder as you hike separate scenic trails ~ one to the very top of Hickory Nut Falls ~ another to the misty pool below the falls formed by plunging water dropping 404 feet from above. Begin your adventure in the Tunnel leading to elevators taking you up 26-stories inside the mountain. Exit the elevators and proceed through the Sky Lounge Gift Shop and Snack Bar, and then walk out to the most photographed spot in the whole park known as “The Chimney”. Continue along the cliff trails passing Devil’s Head, the Needle’s Eye, and on to the breathtaking, originating point of the fall’s cascading waters (one of the highest in eastern America). This hiking trip definitely requires comfortable shoes and layered clothing. Open year round (winter weather permitting).

TRAIN RIDE ON THE GREAT SMOKY MOUNTAIN RAILROAD

Select a day excursion ranging from 4 to 4 ˝ hours departing from the station of your choice: either the route from the Historic Town of Dillsboro to Bryson City, NC (or) the route from the Historical Town of Bryson City to the Nantahala Gorge. Lunch provided by the railroad can be pre-ordered (at guest’s expense) with a 24-hour notice before departure. Other food options: bring your own snacks and lunch on board with you, purchase lunch from the train’s concession car, or from an eatery at your “turn around” point during your layover.
